EEG celebrates ‘Productivity’ Day Saturday,9 September,2023,Addis Ababa, Ethiopia : The Ethio-Engineering Group ( EEG) observes colourfully today the National ‘Productivity’ Day at the Haile Grand Hotel.
Opening the day that was organized here ,EEG CEO, Ambassador Suleiman Dedefo recalled that EEG has already launched its 2016 E.C budget Year plan under ‘Ethiopia Deserves Its Own Brand’, and embarked upon its daunting tasks.’
Apart from assembling, we have envisaged to start producing, among the agricultural machineries construction equipments,and automotives, the major ones locally by our own. In this regard, the role and contribution of the government of Ethiopia and that of stake holders is decisive.
Public Enterprises Holdings and Administration General Director, Habtamu HaileMichael on his part rehiterated that the role of EEG in filling the market gap ,and in boosting the country’s economy is immense. Of course, the results that the group has so far achieved are promising and encouraging. Yet, existing challenges and bottlenecks need to addressed through debates and discussions he said.
Meanwhile, Ato Mesfin Tesfaye, EEG’s Plan and Program Service Head presented group’s over all activities . This is not to mention the documentary film that was featured to the participants. A panel discussion meant to flash back on the group’s hitherotho journey,forshadow on its ambitious plans, sees into its challenges was held ,chaired by Commercial Bank of Ethiopia’s Vice President and EEG Board Member, Dr. Embet Melese. In attendance here were, Dr. Eyob Tekalegn, Minister D’état, Minister Of Finance ,Dr. Fitsum Asefa ,Minister of Planning and Development, Ato Tarekegn Bululeta, Minister D’état, Ministry of Industry and EEG Board Member, among others. The discussion was also aimed at drawing future direction and soliciting stakeholders’ and customers’ active participation.
Coming out of the quagmire of bankruptcy, EEG is now being transformed into profitability thanks to the relentless efforts its dedicated workers and leaders have shown in the past few years, it was said.
The nine industries embraced under EEG have also side exhibited their products.
Customers, stakeholders, industries, board and committee members who helped EEG reach at its current heights and status have been certified and recognized.
Closing the session, state minister of Miniser of Finance ,Dr. Eyob Tekalegn, stated ,wishing bright and better new Ethiopian year, that the government of Ethiopia has put huge hope and trust on EEG’s future plans and activities.
